Summer skiing on the Triglav Glacier

Jure is the first Slovenian skier to win an Olympic medal and Jure is the first Slovenian skier to win an Olympic medal for Slovenia. Confusing? Let’s explain. The first medalist in Yugoslavian Slovenia surname is Franko and the second is Košir. Two legends. The youngest of the two was Nik’s third guest.
"Jurij Ko-zir, 22-year-old from Mojz-trana," was announced by the Eurosport announcer on Olympic slalom twenty-seven years ago in Lillehammer. This young man from the Slovene village Mojstrana was very determined on the ski slope in Hafjell. On the last day of the 17th Winter Olympic Games, Slovenia won its third bronze. In addition to Jure, Alenka Dovžan also brought bronze from Lillehammer, to her hometown Mojstrana.
Where did Jure and Alenka pave the way to their Olympic medal? On the Triglav Glacier. As elementary school students, they had the privilege of training on the “home ground” on the real snow in the middle of the summer. Unimaginable nowadays. How did the summer glacier trainings with the base below Triglav, 2332 meters above sea level take place? All this and much more, including his favorite Christmas song, Jure revealed to Nik in the new episode of Studio Triglav.
More than half a century later, our Olympic medalist prefers to ski the local Krvavec. What kind of challenge did he set to Ciril while he’s on the mission? To stop in the Danish capital and there, among other things, ski the famous rooftop of Copenhill! Elan’s green skis are ready – is Ciril? We have no doubt!
